The opera has been the chosen topic to design the winter season window displays for Montiel Jewellers. It features a set of three windows located at the front of the premises. They feature three of the operas by Puccini: “Madamme Butterfly”, “La Bohème” and “Turandot”. (See character design)
The costumes ribbons, the colour range and a plain background in white and grey are the elements which unify the three displays.
“Madam Butterfly” is outlined in the first one. She is carrying a lantern which lights up the jewellery props, whose design is inspired by the Japanese traditional shoes.
In the second display, “La Boheme”. She is holding her hat in a cold and windy winter Parisian evening. A solitary tree and a dim sunlight, which is illuminating the top area of this set, emphasize the loneliness of this character.
Finally, Princess “Turandot” stars in the third window, whose dress is inspired by the traditional costumes of Central Asia and China. She is in the garden of her palace, from which a mountain landscape where an illuminated palazzo stands out can be appreciated.
You can see the character design on this link “Puccini characters”.
For the corner window of the shop, we have created sets inspired by “ The Magic Flute” by Mozart. (See project)
